I Love To Tell The Story

  • Church of the Holy Spirit 2400 Northwest 9th Avenue Battle Ground, WA, 98604 United States (map)

I learned to play guitar in 1985 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Bozeman, MT. Music has been my life’s passion. What started out as a desire for self-expression, eventually matured into a ministry. How could I use the gifts I’ve been given to love my neighbor? I love to tell the story. Come spend the evening with us and hear all about it. I especially want to share the good news about our ongoing music and education mission in Kenya.

This is a free event. The Church of the Holy Spirit in Battleground, WA has been kind enough to host.

Chulaimbo Primary School - Kisumu, Kenya

Chulaimbo Primary School in Kisumu, Kenya is educating children aged three to twelve years old. The children are joyful, smart, and eager to learn, despite residing in extreme poverty. Most students live in homes without electricity or running water. The school does not have running water and its sanitation system is basically nonexistent. The county recently constructed two new outhouses to replace what has collapsed into the ground. These two new outhouses must serve 450 students and 20 faculty, and will only last a short period. Girls reaching puberty and are unable to attend school without access to clean bathrooms and water, and this poses a major problem for their future.

The good news is we can dramatically improve their situation! The church on the neighboring property has a well and has offered water access. If we install a pump and erect a water tank, that will create the pressure necessary to run water through PVC piping and flush the system off school property into a nearby waste field. There would also be enough water pressure to install handwashing stations at both bathrooms. This project will cost $15K. As of May 2025, we have raised $10K!

UPDATE: Upon our visit in June, we found that two of the six school buildings were condemned by the county. We are now partnered with two churches to raise the $95K to rebuild the school and include an updated water systems. With God’s grace we have now raised $73,000! They break ground on this project April 1!

The existing conditions, and the plans to rebuild.
