The Tony Starlight Show is a love letter to the bygone days of live stage entertainment. Inspired by Darin at The Landmark, Sammy at The Cocoanut Grove, Dino at The Sands, Ricky Ricardo at the Copacabana, and Don Rickles at Caesars Palace. Tony believes in putting the show back into "Show Business." Backed by a jazz trio, Tony performs swinging jazz standards, parody songs like "The Girl With Emphysema" and "The Brady Is A Champ", impressions, stand-up and other comedy routines. The TS Show has several costume changes and often includes special guest stars, just like the real variety shows of yesteryear. Tony loves what he does and it shows.
Tony Starlight performed in Portland from 1993-1999 at places like The 1201 Club, The Gypsy and nearly two years of Friday nights at Jimmy Mak's. As a comedian he has opened for Steven Wright in both Portland and Seattle, and while in Los Angeles performed at the world famous Improv alongside Sarah Silverman and Zach Galifinakas and was a cast member of L.A. Connection Comedy Theater for three seasons where he was voted Best Writer by his peers. Also while in L.A., he ran into Jessica Biel at Mort's Deli and she was "totally hot, even in casual clothes."
